Folding bikes haven’t fundamentally changed in over 30 years. They have small wheels, tiny hinged frames and less than ideal geometry. They ride poorly, are heavy and awkward to use, but worst of all, they don’t actually fold that small.

Small wheels are less stable at speed, have higher rolling resistance, less grip and require higher tire pressure that results in a harsher ride.
